Phlebotomy Technician Program

The phlebotomy technician program is designed to teach knowledge in the technical and procedural aspects of basic phlebotomy, including collection of blood samples and maintaining records of blood tests. The program will teach students the concepts of specimen collection in healthcare settings, overview of the human body, blood collection procedures, special procedures, quality assurance and legal issues, infection control, medical terminology, how to properly operate blood collection equipment, venipuncture procedures, special collections, computers, and specimen handling. This program is also designed for learners who want to advance their career or begin a career in the medical field to become a phlebotomy technician.

Diploma or GED required. This is a 20-week hybrid course. Mostly online with in-person labs every other week for 3 hours. Last 2 weeks in-person hospital clinical. Upon completion, you will be able to take the NHA exam to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
